Ecojustice is what Jesus was talking about when he recommended and practiced a simple lifestyle. During the 1973 and 1979 oil crises, there was a general reawakening to ecojustice principles. This led to considerable environmental awareness in the industrialized world. Christians, too, began to recognize the importance of renewable energysolar, wood, biomass, wind, water powerand the problems with nonrenewable energyoil, coal, nuclear, natural gas.

This world now is a place where the hands and minds of people lead to human capabilities to create new life forms. The authors warn that the integrity of the created order is at stake.
